From Monday 21 May - Thursday 31 May, Tangara's Latin students participated in the 2018 Language Perfect World Championships, competing online with schools from all over the world. In what has been an overwhelming achievement, Tangara not only finished first in NSW and Australia in Latin for schools who have between 100-250 students in languages... but Tangara also finished FIRST in the WORLD!

Well done to all the students who put in extra time and effort to achieve this! Special congratulations to the following girls who received an award for their achievement in Latin:

  • Stephanie Pratikna
  • Anna Baker
  • Madisen Azar
  • Jessica Hoogwerf
  • Olivia Bosworth
  • Amy Haryanto
  • Brigid Murphy
  • Lara Tedesco
  • Eliza Daher
  • Simoni Shirwadkar
  • Gabrielle Pillai
  • Carina Santomingo
  • Jemima Hanna

A special thank you goes to a group of Year 7 students who gave up their lunch time to get Tangara over the line on the final day of the competition. Thank you also to the Language teachers Mrs. Benedicte Uphill and Mrs. Annabel Gassmann for their support and guidance. A true team effort!
