We are delighted to announce the Captains for 2019.

Our Captains play a very important role in encouraging, enthusing, and building the participation of all students in the life of our School, whether that is in sport, the creative and performing arts, public speaking or community service.

This year we have seen the need for a student leader whose special role is to support and inspire the life of faith which is at the heart of our School. Therefore we have created a Captain’s position which, while familiar to many other schools, is new to Tangara: the Liturgy Captain. Her role will be to witness to the Tangara values of faith, hope and charity in daily life; to assist in the organisation of liturgies such as School Masses, First Friday Vigils and the Eucharistic Procession; and build students’ love for and participation in these liturgies.

The 2019 Captains are:

School Captain - Chantal Kos

Vice Captain - Katie Lang

Sport - Jenina Lui

Creative and Performing Arts - Gabrielle Landers

Public Speaking - Christina Baterna

Community Service - Matilda Wiggins

Liturgy - Stephanie Chee

Siena Captain - Jessica Vala

Siena Vice Captain - Tatiana Avinante

Atlantis Captain - Francesca Sugiaman

Atlantis Vice Captain - Catherine Murphy

La Mancha Captain - Angela Lee

La Mancha Vice Captain - Teresa Cullen

Tintagel Captain - Christine Abrams

Congratulations to all these girls. They will be formally welcomed to their new roles at our leadership induction ceremony at the end of this term, when our current Year 12 leaders will hand over the baton. The new Captain, Vice Captain and their team will take up their leadership duties from the beginning of Term 4.
