I am very excited to present the excellent HSC results of the Class of 2017.
Congratulations to Michaela Munasinghe, Annabelle Woodbury and Faith Limantono who were named All-Round Achievers. They all achieved results in the highest band possible for at least 10 units of their HSC courses. Michaela also has the distinction of achieving 11th place in Business Studies, out of 17,773 students. Well done!
We also congratulate Yiling McGregor whose outstanding HSC major work has been selected for ARTEXPRESS, and Sarah Kennaugh whose Drama performance was nominated for inclusion in OnSTAGE.
This year 36 students attempted 195 examinations and earned 67 listings on the Distinguished Achievers List for achieving a Band 6 or equivalent in their course (90% or above). I am proud to report that Tangara is ranked number 26 in NSW.
Our girls attained 93 Band 5 performances across all courses, achieving 80% or above. Strong Band 5 results are important because they contribute significantly to the calculation of the ATARs, which the girls will receive tomorrow.
There are many individual success stories amongst the 2017 results that do not appear in the rankings. These girls have also given their personal best and we congratulate all of them.
On behalf of the Class of 2017 and their parents, I thank all the teachers and tutors who have supported the girls over the years. A special thank you to the HSC teachers for their outstanding dedication, and to Mrs Jennifer Bannon, our Director of Teaching and Learning, for her academic leadership.
