Tangara Old Girl wins a Prize at a Medical Conference

Tangara Old Girl, Dr Bernadette Wilks, Class of 2002, has been awarded the 2015 Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and Faculty of Pain Medicine electronic poster (ePoster) Prize. Her research was on “A balance between trust and autonomy: a qualitative study of women’s operating theatre suite stress while undergoing breast cancer surgery”. Her poster was judged to be the best of those submitted in terms of originality, scientific rigour and quality of presentation.

Bernadette is a first year anaesthetic trainee at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne with an interest in qualitative research, which began during a year at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne.
