How to Get to Tangara

Tangara School for Girls and Tangara Infants are located on Franklin Road in Cherrybrook. Cherrybrook is a residential neighbourhood 23.5 km north-west of the CBD, and offers a variety of public transport options from all over Sydney.


Driving:

From Hornsby/Northern Sydney: Travel west along Pennant Hills Rd and turn right into New Line Rd. Continue through the suburbs of Pennant Hills and Cherrybrook, at the roundabout turn left off New Line Rd onto County Drive, then left onto John Rd, and right onto Franklin Rd.

From Dural: Follow New Line Rd towards Cherrybrook, and at roundabout turn right off New Line Rd onto County Drive, then left onto John Rd, and right onto Franklin Rd.

From Castle Hill/North-West Sydney: Drive along Castle Hill Rd following the signs towards Cherrybrook/Hornsby. Turn left onto County Drive, then right onto John Rd, and right onto Franklin Rd.
 
From Sydney CBD/Southern, Eastern & Western Sydney: Follow the M2 motorway driving away from Sydney’s CBD towards the north-west of Sydney. Take the Pennant Hills Rd exit off the M2, turn right onto Pennant Hills Rd, followed by left onto Castle Hill Rd. At the lights turn right onto Edward Bennett Drive, left onto Neale Ave, then left onto Franklin Rd.
 
Bus:
 
There are a number of bus options available to and from Tangara and the surrounding streets every day, including a buses to and from Pennant Hills train station, Castle Towers, and a number of suburban bus stops in Cherrybrook, Dural, Castle Hill, Pennant Hills, Beecroft, Oakhill and more.

To use these services all students require a School OPAL card. Current eligible students should have received their OPAL card at the start of the 2016 school year. A student will need to complete a new school OPAL pass application if they:
  • Are applying for the first time
  • Have changed residential address
  • Have changed schools
  • Moved from Year 2 to Year 3
  • Moved from Year 6 to Year 7

Private Bus Service: The ‘Belfield Bus’ is operated by North Sydney Bus Company and travels from the Strathfield area between the PARED Schools, including Tangara, Redfield and Retaval Wahroonga. This bus service is dependent on availability and charges do apply. For enquiries and bookings please contact Susan at the PARED Office on (02) 9651 1177. 
 
A dedicated bus service also runs from the Cherrybrook campus to Retaval Wahroonga each morning, returning in the afternoon. The bus is fully supervised by an accompanying member of staff. For enquiries please contact Jo Tabuteau at Retaval Wahroonga on (02) 9487 1298.
 
Train:
 
Students who require access to a train station normally catch a Hillsbus to Pennant Hills Station to continue their journey from there.
 
The North-West Rail Link is currently under construction and is expected to be open in the first half of 2019. The rail line will include a new “Cherrybrook Station” to be located on the corner of Castle Hill Road and Franklin Road, only a 3 minute walk from Tangara.
 
Cherrybrook Station will include:
  • Retail space
  • New traffic lights and improved pedestrian safety in the area
  • Intersection upgrade of Franklin and Castle Hill roads to allow left in/ left out movements
  • Footpath upgrades along Castle Hill, Robert and Franklin road
  • Fencing, landscaping and public areas.
